A grand 25th anniversary alumni meet and Silver Jubilee celebration was recently held for the 1997–2000 batch of former students at Saraswathi Narayanan College, Perungudi, Madurai. The campus grounds buzzed with nostalgia and joy as alumni gathered to reconnect and commemorate their enduring friendships and academic journey.

The event was graced by distinguished personalities from various fields, including renowned comedian Robo Shankar, an ISRO scientist Sahul Hameed, computer technology experts, professors, and other accomplished alumni. Together, they shared memories and success stories, highlighting the diverse achievements of the college’s alumni community.

College Secretary Mr. Narayanan presided over the ceremony, with Principal Mr. Chandran and Vice Principal Mr. Ganesan officially inaugurating the function. The alumni meet was skillfully coordinated by Mr. Lakshmanan, Mr. Suresh, Mr. Pushpakaran, Mr. Balasubramanian, and Mr. Manikandan, representing the Silver Jubilee organizing committee.

The celebration was filled with heartfelt reminiscence as attendees joyfully recalled their college days, reliving old memories and cherishing bonds with long-time friends. A former professor delivered an entertaining speech about college experiences, followed by a lively comedy session featuring Robo Shankar and the alumni, who humorously recounted episodes such as throwing stones to stop the bus at the college bus stop—prompting the affectionate phrase, “Nanban da!” (“Buddy!”) among friends.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Mr. Ganesan, now serving as an analyst, who expressed gratitude on behalf of the alumni. The 25th anniversary reunion at Saraswathi Narayanan College was a memorable occasion, celebrating tradition, achievements, and lasting camaraderie.
