According to ANI, DM Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde stated, “One person has died in the incident…,” after the Kamakhya Express train derailed close to Cuttack’s Nergundi Railway Station.Eight injured individuals required a referral and were moved.An investigation into the situation is underway.
Earlier, Sudhansu Sarangi, the director-general of the Odisha Fire Service, reported that seven injured individuals had been evacuated and transported to a nearby hospital.
“There should not be more than 10 injured people,” he stated.
The train was traveling from Bengaluru to Kamakhya station in Guwahati, Assam.
“Plans are in place to assist the impacted travelers in getting to their destinations. Other trains will be rerouted in order to restore the line as soon as possible,” he stated.
The derailment resulted in the diversion of three trains. According to officials, these trains are the Purulia Express, Neelachal Express, and Dhauli Express.
The general manager of ECoR, the divisional railway manager (DRM) of Khurda Road, and other senior officials hurried to the scene after the tragedy. Additionally, a medical and accident relief train has been hurried to the location.
“We have alerted the fire and NDRF services and mobilized our resources. Mishra stated, “A relief train has been dispatched to the location.”
He said that many trains’ routes had been rerouted as a result of the disaster. “Our frontline officers and support staff have also reached the spot,” he said.
Additionally, he stated that the required preparations were being made to get the stranded passengers to their destinations and that helplines 8455885999 and 8991124238, had been established.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed concern over the incident and directed officials to restore normalcy as soon as possible.
