Hockey India said Friday that the 2025 FIH Men’s Junior World Cup will be held in Chennai and Madurai, both in the southern Tamil Nadu state.
Twenty-four teams from around the world will compete in the competition, which will take place over two weeks from November 28, 2025, to December 10, 2025.
This will be the third consecutive time that India has hosted the FIH Men’s Junior World Cup. The nation had previously hosted the World Cup in Bhubaneswar in 2021 and Lucknow in 2016.
In front of their home fans, India had won the 2016 competition. Harmanpreet Singh, the current Indian captain, also made his debut during the event.
Madurai will host the Asian Champions Trophy for the first time, but Chennai hosted it in 2023.
“Hockey India is extremely proud to be hosting the upcoming FIH Junior Men’s Hockey World Cup,” stated Dilip Tirkey, the organization’s president.
“The Junior World Cup will be held in Chennai and Madurai, with 24 teams participating this year. Madurai will host an international tournament of this kind for the first time, and we are excited to bring hockey to other regions of the nation, even though Chennai held the Asian Champions Trophy in 2023.
