Jyotsnaa G. Bansal

For many people, numerology is linked with personal readings, lucky numbers, or future predictions. Books, online videos, and consultations have made this the most familiar side of the subject.

Jyotsnaa G. Bansal has chosen a different path. Instead of limiting her work to practice and public consultation, she studies numerology through academic research. Her work places the subject within Indian philosophy and Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), bringing it into academic discussion through research papers, journals, and conferences.

Why Research Became the Focus

Academic research asks questions, studies written sources, and presents findings through documented work. This process creates a record that scholars can read, discuss, and build upon.

Jyotsnaa has achieved a meaningful academic & research milestone in Numerology. Her latest research paper has been published in Prajnā, a reputed research journal of Poornaprajna Samshodhana Mandiram, Bengaluru. The institute is recognised as an “Adarsha Shodha Samsthan” by Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi. The paper reflects her effort to study numerology through the ideas found in Indian philosophy rather than treating it only as a prediction or belief-based practice.

The publication also gives Numerology a place within structured academic research through a recognized platform. By connecting Numerological ideas with the core concepts of IKS and Philosophical studies, the research opens new possibilities for further study, discussion and interdisciplinary exploration. This publication is an important step because it shows that Numerology need not be seen as a separate or vague subject.

The Research Behind the Recognition

The published paper is part of a larger body of research. Over the past few years, Jyotsnaa has presented papers at national and international conferences on Indian Knowledge Systems,  Ayurveda, the Chakra system, and Numerology.

Her work has been presented at institutions such as St. Stephen’s College, Central Sanskrit University, and Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University. These presentations have allowed her research to become part of academic discussion instead of remaining limited to personal practice.

One of her earlier papers on Ayurvedic Numerology was selected among the first ten papers at a University of Delhi conference. The conference souvenir carrying the paper was released by the then Hon’ble Education Minister, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan. Later, the research was featured in Panchjanya on National Ayurveda Day 2025.

A First for Indian Numerology Research

Jyotsnaa is recognised as India’s first female numerologist to publish numerology-based research papers in an international journal. This achievement reflects her long-term effort to bring the subject into academic publishing through documented research.

Her work has also received academic recognition. In 2026, she received the Arundhati – International Vidushi Pratibha Samman at the University of Lucknow by Global Sanskrit Forum for her contribution to research, literature and Indian knowledge traditions.

The Research Continues

Along with her research papers, Jyotsnaa writes for The Daily Guardian and Panchjanya and serves as the Managing Editor of ASMITAA, an International peer-reviewed academic magazine.

Her work follows a clear direction. Rather than presenting numerology only through personal experience or consultation, she has chosen to study it through research, academic writing, and published scholarship. That approach has made her work different from the path followed by most people in the field and has opened new space for academic discussion on numerology within Indian Knowledge Systems.
